Grant Leier was born in Lloydminster, Alberta in 1956 and was educated at the Alberta College of Art in Calgary and the Illustrator’s Workshop in New York City. Grant Leier has had numerous solo exhibitions of his paintings in Western Canada and California, as well as textile and assemblage works featured in important group exhibitions organized by public art museums.

Grant Leier is known for his sense of colour and design resulting in whimsical pieces that are truly a delight to look at. His intent is to create art that makes the viewer feel good. “Happy visual memories” have been constructed in these images and everything contributes to the perception of a happy place and time.

Grant Leier now lives in British Columbia with his wife, artist Nixie Barton, and their son.
